'This might be the reason why people took to streets supporting VD Satheesan'; was surprised by strong public demand, says Mohanlal

KOCHI: Actor Mohanlal has heaped praises on Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan during a public reception held in Paravur. Mohanlal said that Satheesan is a person who combines honesty and transparency, and that this might be the reason why people came out to support him on the streets.

He added that the Chief Minister holds the place of a close friend in his heart and said Malayalis have high expectations from him. Mohanlal also said he was surprised by the strong public demand that helped Satheesan become Chief Minister. During the event, Mohanlal addressed him respectfully as “Satheesan Sir.” Actor Salim Kumar and veteran filmmaker Sreekumaran Thampi were also present at the event.

Earlier, superstar Mammootty and actor Kunchacko Boban attended another reception event held in Kochi. The event was organised by the citizens of Kochi at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium to honour the Chief Minister and ministers from the district, including Anoop Jacob, Roji M. John, and V. E. Abdul Gafoor, along with MLAs.

Mammootty honoured V. D. Satheesan with a ceremonial shawl and wished him success as Chief Minister. He said the role of a Chief Minister is difficult and comes with great responsibility. According to Mammootty, a Chief Minister must listen to everyone, consider all opinions, keep people satisfied, guide ministers, and provide leadership. Mammootty also said that he has played the roles of Chief Ministers of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh in films, but added that holding the real position of Chief Minister is far more challenging.
