Mammootty, indomitable acting marvel, turns 70

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mammootty, the emperor of acting and the pride of Malayalam, turns 70 today. Mammootty, who did not usually partake in his birthday celebrations, will be celebrating his 70th birthday with his family today. The venue is a resort in Munnar. Family members including wife Sulfath, son Dulquer Salman and daughter Surumi have reached Munnar. This time too, the birthday cake is designed by daughter Surumi.

On his birthday, Mammootty will announce the untitled new movie in which he will play the lead. The film is produced by Kavya Films which also produced Mamangam. He will join the film as soon as the shooting of 'Puzhu' is over. The shooting of 'Puzhu' starring Mammootty and Parvathy Thiruvoth has started in Ernakulam on September 1. Newcomer Ratheena Sharshad is the director. The fifth part of the CBI Diary Kurip is another film starring the megastar this year.

Fans association activists are also involved in charitable activities on Mammootty's birthday. Blood donation and sadya preparation for the poor will be part of this. Mammootty is having the happiness of his 70th birthday fifty years after his face appeared on the silver screen and 40 years since he won his first award.
