CHENNAI: An Ola driver has been arrested for beating a passenger to death after a dispute over OTP. The incident took place in Chennai last Sunday. According to sources, a delay in providing the OTP number and subsequent dispute regarding this between the two led to murder. The arrested cab driver has been identified as N Ravi, a native of Salem.

The deceased has been identified as Umendar, a techie from Coimbatore. Umendar had gone to Chennai along with his wife and kids to visit a relative.

On Sunday evening, Umendar's wife booked a cab when the family was returning after watching a movie. After reaching the spot, the cab driver raised some doubts regarding the OTP sent to the phone of Umendar's wife. Following this, the cab driver asked the family to get out of the car and enter after confirming the OTP. This resulted in a dispute between Umendar and the cab driver. As things got heated up, the cab driver continuously slammed his phone on Umendar. Umendar soon fell unconscious. Though Umendar was rushed to a nearby hospital, he could not be saved.
