Eight-year-old trapped in 400 feet borewell dies after four days

dies

BHOPAL: An eight-year-old boy died after falling into a borewell in Madhya Pradesh's Betul. The deceased is Tanmay Sahu, who fell into a 400 feet deep borewell. The incident happened last Tuesday around 5 pm. The child was pulled out after four days but his life could not be saved.

Tanmay fell into a 400 feet deep well and got trapped at 60 feet. A hole was dug parallel to the borewell and the child was taken out. The nearby rocks made the rescue operation difficult. The child was given oxygen, food and water through a tube. Until last day, the authorities had informed that the child's health condition was satisfactory.

The child fell into the borewell of Betul native Nanak Chauhan's private farm. The child came to play in a nearby field before falling into the well. The well was dug two years ago to bring water to the farm. But Chauhan had revealed that it was later covered with an iron layer as water was not available. He also stated that he doesn't know how the child removed the iron layer.
