NEW DELHI: After the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) made headlines, former Supreme Court judge Justice Markandey Katju has formed a new party. The new party has been named 'Ishq Karo Party (IKP).' Katju said 'Ishq Karo Party' will be a very serious attempt to address the major issues faced by India.
Justice Katju invited Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra to join his new party. He also shared a note criticizing the CJP. He termed the CJP founder as an idiot for demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over irregularities in competitive exams like NEET conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
He clarified in a post on X that people may confuse the party as a joke, a kind of Valentine's Day for promoting romance between boys and girls, but that is a complete misconception. He pointed that India’s problems like poverty, malnutrition among children and unemployment can be eliminated by 'unity' among the people. Katju said the aim of the IKP is to fight evil and promote unity among the people. Katju also said that there should be love (Ishq) for all people, irrespective of caste, religion, race, etc.
