Maharashtra reports sub-variants of Omicron, seven cases in Pune

MUMBAI: Maharashtra has confirmed cases of Covid-19 infection with BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants of the Omicron variant. Seven people were diagnosed with the disease in Pune.

Two of those diagnosed with the Covid variant have foreign travel backgrounds. According to the Maharashtra Health Department, a preliminary contact list of patients has been prepared. Studies have shown that variants of Omicron are less dangerous but have high transmissibility.
