‘Rahul Gandhi supported me emotionally in battling suicidal thoughts’, reveals South Indian actress

South Indian actress and former MP Divya Spandana revealed that she was struggling with suicidal thoughts after her father’s death and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi gave her emotional support. Divya Spandana is spokesperson of the Congress. She opened up about her experience on a channel talk show.

"Two weeks after I lost my father, I was in the Parliament. I didn't know anyone or anything, even about the proceedings of the Parliament. I was having suicidal thoughts. During that time, Rahul Gandhi helped me and supported me emotionally too.”, she said. Divya Spandana also stated after her mother and father, Rahul Gandhi was the most influential person in her life.

Divya became a part of Youth Congress in 2012. Then in 2013, she became a Lok Sabha MP from Mandya constituency. Divya Spandana, who was in charge of the social media wing of the Congress, later lost her post. Now the actress is planning to be active in the cinema field again.
