62-year-old Malayalee arrested for smoking in SpiceJet flight

KOCHI: A 62-year-old Malayalee was arrested for allegedly smoking inside the toilet of SpiceJet plane. The incident happened on Sunday in SpiceJet Airways from Dubai to Kochi. The arrested is Sukumaran of Mala in Thrissur.

Sukumaran was arrested by the Nedumbassery police as per the complaint of Kochi Airport security officer, when he landed in Kochi.

Seeing smoke emanating from the toilet, the crew stopped him. When the flight landed in Kochi, the crew informed the airport security officer. Cigarettes and lighter were seized from him. A case was registered against him and the police later released him on bail.
