Assaulted jail official; Shuhaib murder case accused Akash Thillankeri denied bail

THRISSUR: A court on Saturday denied bail to Akash Thillankeri and his accomplice in a case of assaulting the Viyyur Jail Assistant Superintendent. It was the Thrissur District Sessions Court which rejected the bail plea of ​​Akash Thillankeri (29) and Jijo Thillankeri(30), the accused in the Shuhaib murder case. The accused had assaulted and injured Assistant Superintendent Rahul for questioning the use of the phone in the cell.

Rahul had expressed doubts that Akash and Jijo were using phones in the cell. The prison official also questioned the use of cloth to cover the view inside the cell. Following this, Akash approached the jailer to lodge a complaint against Rahul. The Assistant Jail Superintendent also reached there at the same time. Akash beat up the officer during the subsequent dispute between them. Following the incident, Akash was shifted to a high-security prison.
