Famous actors’ secret video, messages inviting for sexual favours, information including name not disclosed in report

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is hinted that information including names were not disclosed in the report of Hema Committee. Some pages of the 296-page report have not been released in full. In addition to the omitted pages, the 400-page part of the report containing the statements given by actresses and women technicians in the film industry has also not been released.

It is reported that the annexure has the description of WhatsApp chats inviting for sexual favours, copy of screenshots, statements recorded and signed by the committee. Pen drives, CDs, etc., containing secretly recorded footage and conversations by some women, are electronic documents that form part of the appendix. The names of prominent people including actors and directors have been mentioned in the report.

The comments and statements of filmmakers against women are part of the appendix. The main report had 296 pages. Apart from deleting paragraphs 48 and 49 and paragraphs 165 to 169, 61 pages were also deleted in various parts during the inspection conducted by the culture department. It is said that these have been omitted out of respect for the privacy and personal safety of individuals.

Such omissions include repetition of statements made in the appendix in parts of the main report. There have been some omissions in the very beginning which says that the committee was constituted on the memorandum of WCC. This is what is said in the petition of WCC about the incident of actress attack in Kochi. The stenographer was omitted to avoid leaking confidential information in the report and the entire 296-page report was typed by Justice Hema herself.
