KOTTAYAM: The Crime Branch team investigating the murder conspiracy case against Dileep has recorded the statement of Neyyattinkara Bishop Vincent Samuel. The bishop told the probe team that he knew Balachandra Kumar but had not intervened for Dileep's bail. The bishop appeared before the probe team in Kottayam.

Earlier, the prosecution had alleged that Dileep deleted evidence from his phone soon after Balachandra Kumar revealed that the actor conspired to murder the investigating officials. The prosecution argued that the investigation team had received evidence that the lawyer had gone to Mumbai to destroy evidence from his mobile phone and that there are CCTV visuals. Proof of this is the flight ticket to Mumbai and the CCTV footage of the airport. There is also evidence that Dileep's phone was connected to someone else's iMac. All this was done in order to destroy the evidence in the case.
