He killed my daughter, she will never commit suicide, there were constant fights in the name of dowry, says Shahna’s mother

KOZHIKODE: Umaiba, mother of model and actress Shahna, said her daughter will never commit suicide. She said Shahna’s husband Sajad killed her. Sajad and his relatives had been harassing her constantly since the day she got married.

Umaiba said Sajad demanded more dowry. He used to assault her constantly for the cheque she got for acting in advertisements. She used to tell me about the harassment via phone. She said she had been trying to see her daughter for the past one and a half years but Sajad would not allow that.

Meantime, the police said there were regular fights between the couple. When they came after getting the complaint, saw her lying unconsciously on her husband’s lap.

Though she was taken to the hospital, her life could not be saved. The locals saw her hanging from the window.

Sajad is a native of Cherukulam in Kozhikode. Shahna, a native of Cheruvathur in Kasargod has acted in some jewellery advertisements and in some Tamil films in small roles.
