Kollam Collectorate blast case: Remand period of four accused extended

KOLLAM: The remand period of 4 accused in the Kollam Collectorate blast case has been extended. The remand of Madurai natives Abbas Ali, Dawood Sulaiman, Shamsuddin Kareem Raja and Shamsuddin has been extended to June 30. They were produced in the Kollam Principal Sessions Court today.

There were a total of five accused in the case. One of them later turned approver. The other four accused, who were arrested in a case registered by the NIA, have been lodged in a jail in Bangalore. From here, the accused were brought to Kollam and produced in court.

The blast took place on June 15, 2016, near the Munsiff Court in the Kollam Collectorate premises. The explosives were found in a jeep parked here.
