Man beats drunk son to death

PALAKKAD: A 39-year-old youth was beaten to death by his father Balan at Chittalancheri in Palakkad. The dead has been identified as Ratheesh of Patta. The police have taken his father into custody. The incident happened last night.

Ratheesh was Covid positive and was at the observation centre in MNKM Higher Secondary School. He tried to enter the house while in quarantine, but his father did not allow him. He was later staying at another house nearby. He turned negative and reached home last night. He reached home drunk and entered into a fight with his father Balan. When he tried to hack his father with a sword, his father beat him with a wood. Although Ratheesh was taken to Alathur Taluk hospital, his life could not be saved.
