Mother of eight-month-old baby found hanging in husband’s house; Case against husband and mother-in-law

KANNUR: A woman committed suicide at her husband's house in Karivellur. 24-year-old Surya committed suicide by hanging the other day. Her relatives alleged that she committed suicide due to domestic harassment at her in-laws’ house.

Apart from Surya, her eight-month-old son, husband Ragesh and his mother are at home. Her family alleged that Ragesh and his mother had constantly harassed her. Surya had complained to her parents about the harassment she faced at her husband’s house.

Ragesh had assured her family that this will not happen again when they intervened. Meantime, the Payyannur police registered a case against Ragesh and his mother on the complaint filed by Surya's family. Ragesh and Surya got married last year.
