Recovery of explosives in Pathanapuram; parts of bike adds mystery to case

KOLLAM: Some parts of a bike were obtained during an investigation in connection with the recovery of explosives in Pathanapuram. The parts were found near the spot where the gelatin sticks were recovered. The NIA examined the remains of the bike which was dismantled.

The explosives were recovered last week in a search conducted by a team led by beat forest officer from a cashew plantation in Pathanapuram under the forest department. Gelatin stick, detonator battery and some wires were recovered.

The state Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) found that the gelatin stick was made in Tamil Nadu. The investigators suspect that it was used to teach bomb making.
