KOCHI: Key evidence was lost from the car used by Sanu Mohan to kill his daughter Vaiga by throwing her into a river. It is indicated that the forensic examination did not find any evidence from the car sold in Coimbatore as it was washed.
The Volkswagen Ameo car that Sanu sold in Coimbatore was brought to Thrikkakara for inspection. The interior of the car, which he sold while in hiding, was washed with shampoo. Vaiga was knocked unconscious and laid in the back seat of the car before being thrown in Muttar river. Police were hoping to get the child's blood or hair from the car.
Two cases in Pune
Police have found that Sanu Mohan owes Rs 3 crore to a steel company in Pune. Sanu, who ran a metal and lathe business, owes this for buying steel. A cheque was given but it returned as there was no money in the account. The company then filed a lawsuit.
Before leaving Pune, Sanu and his family got chit money of Rs 15 lakh. Chit operators have also filed a case. Sanu mortgaged the Harmony flat in Kangarappadi which is in the name of his wife Remya last May. Sanu has not yet revealed what happened to the money he got by pledging Remya's gold.
