Youths arrested for sexually abusing 13-year-old girl

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two youths have been arrested for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl introduced through the videogame Free Fire. The youths arrested in Kovalam have been identified as Shaan Raj (22) of Karikkakam and Jeevan (20) of Balaramapuram. Her family had lodged a missing complaint on May 15. The Kovalam police found the girl from a friend’s house in Sreekaryam in an investigation conducted.

On interrogation it has been proved that the youths have been abusing her for more than a year. The girl had left home earlier also. Jeevan, one of the accused got acquainted with her via free fire game and then took her to his house and abused. The other one met her via Instagram. The girl told police that she went with him on May 9. She said that he abused her for days and then deserted her at his female friend’s house in Sreekaryam.

A team led by Kovalam SHO Praiju arrested the youths. Police said those helping the youths will be nabbed soon. The two were produced in the court and remanded.
