ALAPPUZHA: It has been found that the accident leading to the electrocution of a woman was after the stay wire hit the fuse carrier. It is assessed that the KSEB employees did not notice the danger. Action is likely to be taken against the KSEB officials in the incident. The dead is Sarala (64) of Puthenpura in Pallipad.

Sarala and her friend Sreelatha were electrocuted while climbing ashore from the paddy field. Sreelatha is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

When Sreelatha accidentally caught hold of electric post’s stay wire to avoid slipping, she was electrocuted. Sarala was electrocuted when she tried to save Sreelatha. The Janakeeya Samithi alleged that the officials did not take the matter seriously despite several complaints filed at the Pallipad KSEB office about the dangerous situation. The office-bearers of the samithi have demanded that a case of culpable homicide be registered against the officials and an investigation be conducted.

Electricity wires in Pallippad and nearby areas of the paddy fields are in a dangerous manner. The authorities should be ready to fix this as soon as possible and ensure the safety of the people. The office bearers of the samithi have also demanded that immediate financial assistance be provided to Sarala's family.
