THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A police team has left for Andhra Pradesh to bring back Anupama's child in a case following a complaint that the child was adopted illegally. The group includes three police officers and a member of the Child Welfare Committee. The baby was adopted by a couple in Andhra Pradesh. Once the baby is brought to Thiruvananthapuram, a DNA test will be done first.

The police team left for Andhra from Thiruvananthapuram airport this morning. Though they will reach Andhra Pradesh in the afternoon, it is not clear when they will return. Once here, the District Child Protection Officer is responsible for the care of the baby.

The Child Welfare Committee took steps to bring the baby back after the court asked to suspend the adoption process. Meanwhile, the Thiruvananthapuram Family Court is considering Anupama's petition today.
