Black fungus confirmed in Kollam: disease confirmed on 42-year-old woman

KOLLAM: Black fungus case has been reported in Kollam. The disease was confirmed on a 42-year-old woman who is undergoing treatment in a private hospital. This is the first case reported in the district.

The patient, who is undergoing treatment at a private medical college in Kollam, underwent emergency surgery. She was admitted to the hospital with blurred vision and severe headache for a week. Earlier, the Chief Minister had confirmed the presence of black fungus in Kerala.
