KOLLAM: Motor vehicle department impounded the car, which ran without a number plate and had a modified appearance. The incident happened in Pathanapuram, Kollam. It is also alleged that a group of people threatened the officials of the Motor Vehicle Department for impounding the car.

The car that was running without a number plate was noticed by MVD officials the other day. Later, officers were deployed to monitor the vehicle. This car was seen speeding today while a vehicle inspection was being conducted and was subsequently impounded. The car was found parked near a marriage house.

After the vehicle was taken into custody, the driver's friends and relatives threatened the officials of the Motor Vehicle Department. A group of people threatened the officers at the Pathanapuram police station. The car's ownership belongs to a native of Malappuram. Although a Kollam native had bought the vehicle, the ownership was not changed.

However, the colour of the car was changed. The car was completely painted pink and had stickers in place of the number plate. The exhaust of the car was also changed. The number plate on the back of the car read 'Boomer' instead of the registration number. The driver was also taken into custody. The charges include altering the structure of the car, driving without number plates and travelling at excessive speed.
