Cabinet decides to pay dues of ration dealers for free kits distributed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The decision of the cabinet is a relief to the ration traders in the state. The cabinet meet convened here decided to pay the commission dues to the ration traders in connection with the distribution of free kits through the ration shops. 85,29,179 kits were distributed through ration shops in May 2021. An amount of Rs 4,26,45,895 has been sanctioned at the rate of Rs 5 per kit. A decision has been taken on the matter now which the ration dealers have been demanding for a long time.

Other decisions of cabinet meet
Out of the 100 acres of land identified for APJ Abdul Kalam University of Technology, it has been decided to take 50 acres of land demarcated for university development and the remaining 50 acres to be taken over by KIIFB funding in the name of APJ Abdul Kalam University of Technology to government/government controlled institutions handling technology development projects similar to the Trust Research Park.

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of independence, it was decided to recommend to the Governor to grant early release to 33 prisoners found eligible for special remission of sentence.

It has been decided to transfer the post of one armed police inspector from KAP fifth Battalion to X Cell Unit of police headquarters. It has been decided to stop the post of cinema operator and create a civil police officer post in the X cell unit of the police headquarters. It has also been decided to stop the technical category posts of mason police constable (Thiruvananthapuram City), Ronio Operator (police headquarters) and draftsman electrical (telecommunication headquarters).
