Case against six including V T Balram for assaulting youth who questioned dining in hotel

PALAKKAD: A case has been registered against V T Balram on the complaint of attacking a youth in the hotel. The Kasaba police have taken a case against five congress leaders apart from Balram. The action was following the complaint of the youth.

The youth’s complaint is that he was attacked for questioning dining in the hotel after violating Covid norms. The youth is undergoing treatment at Palakkad District Hospital. The police have registered a case against the Congress leaders under the sections of assault and intimidation. The action was taken against them after checking the CCTV footages of the hotel.

The youth complaint is false, responded the leaders. The leaders claimed that they had not beaten the youth and only questioned him for taking the video.

Alathur MP Remya Haridas and her team dining at a hotel in violation of Covid norms had courted a controversy. A case was registered against the hotel owner for flouting the lockdown curbs by allwoing them to sit inside.
