KOCHI: A case has been registered against KPCC chief K Sudhakaran for his controversial statement against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Palarivattom police registered the case under Section 153 of IPC for hate speech. The action was taken on the complaint of a local DYFI leader.

The case was registered shortly after the statement of the DYFI leader was recorded. His controversial statement was that the chief minister is running around Thrikkakara like a dog after breaking its chain.

When the statement triggered a controversy, Sudhakaran said that he had not called the chief minister a dog and that it is a common saying in Malabar. He said that he did not intend to hurt anyone and if it has hurt anybody will withdraw it.
