Chief secretary directs to disburse Covid aid within two days, funds to be distributed through camps and home visits

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The chief secretary has directed that the amount for those eligible for Covid financial aid should be disbursed within two days. The chief secretary has given strict directions to the District Collectors to disburse funds through camps and home visits. He also asked to make necessary changes in the software to make it easier to submit applications. Currently, 36,000 applications have been received for financial aid.

The state government's subsidy for children who have lost their parents due to Covid is also in progress. So far 3794 children have been found eligible. The information of the children is collected in the districts and recorded in the Balswaraj portal prepared by the Central Commission for the Protection of Child Rights. The one-time grant is Rs 3 lakh and the monthly sponsorship is Rs 2,000. Financial aid will be given to those who have verified children through the District Collector and marked their approval on the PMCares portal. District Collectors have completed the verification of 101 children.
