THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government is planning to bring a code of conduct to catch those YouTubers who intrude on private moments, including those of celebrities, by turning on their mobile cameras regardless of the context or situation. Legal control is also being considered. The government's move comes in the wake of public outrage over actor Salim Kumar's son, Chandu, who was indignant at those who intruded with mobile cameras during the actor's final rites.
It is reported that Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan will call a high-level meeting to discuss this. The Chief Minister will hold consultations with Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, Culture Minister P.C. Vishnunath, Social Justice Minister Bindu Krishna and others. Clarification will be given on the extent to which unaccredited media outlets can go.
People, including Ramesh Pisharody MLA, have demanded government intervention in this matter. Actress Mallika Sukumaran also demanded that such mobile-wielding YouTubers be strictly banned and that the Chief Minister take action for this.
