Contempt of court plea against ex-DGP Sreelekha in actor assault case; a student behind this move

kk

KOCHI: A plea has been filed seeking permission to file contempt of court action against former DGP Sreelekha in actor assault case. The plea has been submitted to the Advocate General against the statement made in favor of Dileep in the actor assault case. It was filed by Shirley, a student. The plea has been filed against Sreelekha's statement through her YouTube channel intending that Dileep is not an accused in the case. Sreelekha had said in her video that the photo between Dileep and Pulsar Suni was fake and the evidence that the two had been in the same tower location was not credible.

Sreelekha claims that Dileep's arrest is the result of pressure from the media . According to the plea, Sreelekha retired recently from the service and the reason behind her revelations through her YouTube channel in a crucial case is not clear. Dileep's lawyers are likely to present the YouTube video containing Sreelekha's controversial statements in court as evidence against the police. Current indications are that the defense may even demand that Sreelekha's interrogation.
