NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court asked the Election Commission to continue the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Kerala. The state government informed the Supreme Court about the ongoing crisis in the administrative sector following the hectic work of SIR and the local body elections. However, the Election Commission found this to be minimal to cause any real problems in the sector. The Chief Justice deemed that if 88 per cent of digitisation work got completed in such a short span, there was no difficulty in completing it further.
The Supreme Court today heard the petition seeking an interim order in the wake of the local body elections in Kerala. The court did not pass an interim order in this regard. At the same time, the court termed the demands raised by the state as reasonable.
