THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Out of 9470 fresh Covid cases today, 2543 had received one dose of vaccine and 2821 received two doses. This is stated in the Covid analysis report. According to today’s report, 7915 of the 9470 new patients were eligible for vaccination. Of these, 2543 took one dose of vaccine and 2,821 took two doses of the vaccine. But 2551 people have not been reported to have received the vaccine. Covid vaccines protect people from infection and serious illness and significantly reduce the risk of hospitalization and death, the report said.

93.3 per cent of the population to be vaccinated were given one dose of vaccine (2,49,34,697) and 43.6 per cent were given two dose of vaccine (1,16,59,417). Kerala has the highest number of vaccinations / million in India (1,02,506). The state has given single dose to 97 percent of people over the age of 45 and two doses to 61 percent.

Between September 28 and October 4, an average of 1,42,680 cases were treated, with only 2 percent requiring oxygen beds and only 1 percent requiring an ICU. During this period, there were approximately 29,960 fewer reported new cases compared to the previous week. The growth rate of new cases has decreased by 26% compared to the previous week. The number of patients currently being diagnosed and treated in hospitals, field hospitals, ICUs, ventilators and oxygen beds decreased by 12%, 12%, 24%, 10%, 8% and 13% respectively this week compared to the previous week. Hospitalization rates and serious cases show a declining trend.

In June, July and August, 6% of Covid patients took one dose of Covid vaccine and 3.6% took two doses of Covid vaccine. This suggests that post-vaccination immunity is effective in preventing infections, but that people who have been vaccinated may be infected at least in small amounts. Therefore, people with related diseases should take precautionary measures to prevent the disease, the report said.
