Covid crisis drives bus owner to commit suicide

WAYANAD: Financial crisis due to Covid-19 drove a private bus owner to commit suicide.

P C Rajamani, a native of Palancherry in Ambalavayal Perumbadikunnu was found in a weak condition at a plantation near his house after consuming poison. Although he was taken to the hospital, his life could not be saved and died Monday night.

Rajamani was the owner of Brahmaputra bus plying service on the Kadalmad-Sultan Bathery route. His relatives said Rajamani was in dire financial crisis after the bus stopped services for the past one and a half years due to Covid.
