PALAKKAD: Following the BJP's poor performance in the Palakkad by-election, several BJP leaders have come out against the party leadership regarding the leakage of votes. Taking to his Facebook page Sandeep Vachaspati said that he did not expect the party to suffer such a setback in Palakkad. Sandeep also stated that it is a serious matter that a large number of BJP votes got leaked despite the party state president leading the campaign activities in Palakkad.

'Things were pretty much personal in Palakkad. It was evident during the campaigning. Issues such as communalism, bribery and defection became the topics of discussion. It should be checked whether the party failed to defend these matters. However, nothing has happened to the BJP's base in Palakkad. This setback is only temporary. The party has enough strength to overcome this,' Sandeep wrote.

BJP leader N Sivarajan had earlier emphasized the need to strengthen the party’s framework. He also suggested bringing back those who had been inactive for some time to reinforce the organization.
