NEW DELHI: The Kerala government informed the Supreme Court that the decision to ease the restrictions in the state for Bakrid was taken after consultation with experts. The government said in a statement that Covid regulations are being strictly followed in the state. It also stated that the traders are allowed to open the shops only in certain areas.
The apex court had sought an explanation from the government for easing the restrictions in view of Bakrid. The court directed that an explanation be given today. The court had rejected Kerala's demand for more time. After this, Kerala gave an explanation. The court had informed the petitioner that the arguments would be heard on Tuesday after examining Kerala's explanation. PKD Nambiar, a Malayalee businessman from Delhi, approached the court questioning the relaxations in the state.
