THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As the Kerala government is planning to revise the Covid restrictions in the state, the Kerala unit of IMA has come up with a set of instructions. The IMA has demanded that all sectors, including educational institutions, should be opened.

All institutions where students above 18 years of age study must be open. The educational institutions must be opened after providing vaccines to students and teachers. Those under 18 must also be vaccinated and schools should be opened. Major tourism centers should also be opened. The IMA also recommended that all shops should be allowed to function every day.

The IMA said it was ready for an extensive serosurvey covering all the districts of Kerala. At present, serosurveys were conducted in only three districts. Instead, an authentic study with all districts is needed. The IMA demanded that more CFLTCs should be set up and that health workers should not be pushed into strikes at this stage.

Vaccine distribution should be done directly by the Health Department. The IMA alleged that the distribution of the vaccine was leading to conflict in many places and that there was political interference in the distribution of the vaccine. The IMA also suggested that facilities be made available for the purchase of vaccines, including in small hospitals.
