Famous Kathaprasangam artist Kollam Babu passes away

KOLLAM: Famous Kathaprasangam artist Kollam Babu passed away on Sunday. He died due to old age ailments. He will be cremated at his family home in Koyivila. Mukundan Pillai alias Kollam Babu has performed Kathaprasangam in more than 15,000 venues.

He has presented 35 literary works as Kathaprasangam. In 1979, he has received the Sangeetha Nataka Academy Award. He has also performed in foreign countries. He had formed a drama committee called Kollam Yavana. Kollam Babu chose Kathaprasangam as his career after resigning is job in the Government Press.
