THODUPUZHA: Anil Kumar has made his son’s wedding unforgettable by bringing the very same car in which he had travelled after his marriage, 27 years ago. An Ambassador car, which was used around two-and-half decades ago, was brought to the wedding of Arjun, son of Anil Kumar and Rajasree of Kappu, Oliyapuram. During the era of luxury cars, the groom arriving in an Ambassador was an intriguing visual for his relatives as well.

Anil and Rajasree had tied the knot on February 5, 1995 at Kurinjilikattu Devi Temple. The couple embarked their first journey on a 1990 model Ambassador car, owned by Shivashankaran Nair, a native of Kollakattu, Kappu. The vehicle marked the beginning of all the fortunes that came later. After 25 years, when his son’s marriage was fixed, Anil set out to find the very same car. The vehicle was being used by Kodakara native Sabari. Anil contacted Sabari via phone and the owner himself drove the car to Kappu from Thrissur.

Arjun’s marriage took place in Krishna Theertham marriage auditorium in Thodupuzha on Sunday. The bride was Lakshmi, daughter of V C Raghunath and Geetha of Vallavassery, Kappu. After the marriage, the family went back home in the Ambassador car. The couple clicked a lot of pictures with the car, after which it was handed back to the owner. Anil Kumar currently serves as the joint RTO in Muvattupuazha.
