KOZHIKODE: An ambulance carrying a dead body from Kozhikode to Bihar was fired upon on the Jabalpur-Rewa National Highway in Madhya Pradesh around 11:30 am today.
The ambulance was carrying the body of a Bihar native who was hit by a train in Faroke, Kozhikode to his homeland. The shots were fired while they were travelling in a deserted area. The ambulance driver Fahad, a resident of Kozhikode, says that he suspects that the firing took place using an air gun. The driver also stated that he did not know who the attackers were. The glass of the ambulance was fully broken in the firing. The ambulance driver said that he informed the Rewa police station and asked for police security for the onward journey.
