Four children who suffered food poisoning in Kasargod infected with shigella

KASARGOD: Four children, who are undergoing treatment after suffering food poisoning in Kasargod, have been infected with shigella. The four children are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kanhangad. The infection was confirmed after an examination conducted at the Kozhikode Medical College.

Last month, Kozhikode had reported a shigella infection after a gap of several months. The disease was confirmed in Puthiyappa, Kozhikode. Health officials said the earlier detection had prevented the spread of the disease.
