KOZHIKODE: Customs let off former DYFI leader C Sajesh after questioning in connection with the Karipur gold smuggling case. Meanwhile, Sufiyan, the main accused in the Ramanattukara gold robbery planning case, has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days. Sufiyan was remanded by the Malappuram Manjeri First Class Magistrate Court.

Customs has not yet reached a decision on whether to question Sajesh again. According to customs, Sagesh is the benami of Arjun Ayanki. The car used by Arjun was registered in the name of Sajesh. Customs suspects that Sajesh also had clear information about the deed. Sufiyan has been arrested twice for smuggling gold from the UAE. His brother Fijas was also arrested recently.
