THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday came down heavily on Governor Arif Mohammad Khan for calling renowned historian Irfan Habib a goon.

"Irfan Habib is a historian respected all around the world. He was called a goon by the governor. The governor is saying that the 92-year-old Irfan Habib tried to kill him. Earlier, he had repeatedly called Kannur University VC Gopinath Ravindran a criminal. They are on the hate list of RSS. That is why the governor is attacking them," the CM said.

"The governor, who inaugurated the History Congress, made pro-CAA remarks during his speech. Following this, some representatives reacted against it. What happened there was only a natural protest against the governor," he added.
