Govt to take strict action against cops having links with goons; mass transfer in Mangalapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government will be taking strict action against the policemen having connections with goons. All the policemen of Mangalapuram station in Thiruvananthapuram will be transferred. SHO Sajeesh had been suspended earlier.

The action is based on the report of policemen having links with goonda mafias. There is a possibility of announcing a vigilance probe against the policemen. The authorities have sent a recommendation to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan seeking action against DySPs having links with goons. A decision is likely to be taken today.

The intelligence wing had submitted a report to the DGP regarding the links of cops with goons. Nearly 160 SSOs in the state will be transferred. The government is taking strict action against the backdrop of increasing gang attacks.
