KOCHI: The Kerala High Court came down heavily on the government for not implementing the court order in connection with the Orthodox and Jacobite church disputes. The high court criticized the government for being helpless and said that it had a system in place to enforce court orders.
The Supreme Court ruled in favour of the Orthodox Church. The government said that there will be a law and order problem when the court order is implemented. The court pointed that the helplessness of the government, which has all the means to prevent this, is frightening.
The differences of opinion between the Orthodox and Jacobite churches is in a very dangerous situation. The court directed the government to inform their stand on the matter before September 29. The court intervened in a plea filed by six Orthodox church committees seeking police protection to enter the church.
