Housewife dies of rabies in Idukki; bitten by dog two months ago

KATTAPPANA: A housewife died of rabies in Idukki. The dead has been identified as Omana (65), wife of Shankaran, a native of Thekkinthandu, Murikkasseri. She was bitten by a dog, two months ago.

However, Omana had not sought treatment at the time as she did not realize that the dog was infected by the virus. She was shifted to Kottayam Medical College Hospital following symptoms, but could not be saved.
