THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that people must remain alert and abide by the code of conduct even after the lockdown is withdrawn as the presence of the highly contagious delta virus is likely to continue for a long time. Those who have been vaccinated and recovered from the disease may get infected due to the delta virus. Hence, people, including those who have been vaccinated and those who have been cured, should continue to follow the Covid code of conduct, the CM said during the press meet.

"The state government is trying to complete the vaccination as soon as it receives the Covid vaccine from the central government. But no matter how hard we try, it can take months and years to achieve disease control. Because of all this, everyone should work together not to push the state to another lockdown," the CM said.
