Kalariguru Swami Hanuman Dasji passes away

PARASSALA: Swami Dharmananda Swaroopa Hanuman Dasji (74), abbot of 'Kalariyil Dharmikam Ashram' in Parasuvakkal passed away at 11.30 am on Sunday. He was under rest for a long time due to illness.

Born in Thamalam in Thiruvananthapuram, Dasji has left his mark on spirituality, martial arts, socio-cultural and agricultural fields. As a child, he became a Hanuman devotee after getting attracted to Bhajans and God worship. Swamiji was ordained by Swaroopananda Swamiji. His previous name was Balachandran Nair.

Wife: Remadevi. Children: Gayathri Balachandran and Dr. Girish B Chandran. In-laws: Shaji Sreedhar and Dr. Manju Girish. The funeral took place in the premises of the house.
