Karnataka tightens checking at border; Kerala will make arrangements for Covid test at Thalappady

BENGALURU: Kerala will make arrangements to conduct Covid test at the Thalappady border from today. The Covid testing unit set up by Karnataka in Thalappady was closed yesterday. With this, Kerala decided to start a testing centre, said Kasargod Collector.

RTPCR mobile testing unit will be set up in Thalappady in collaboration with Spice Health. There will be strict checking in Valayar from Thursday. Those who don’t have an RTPCR certificate will be permitted to go after looking at the body temperature. Those who do not have RTPCR certificate will be sent back from Thursday onwards.

The Tamil Nadu Police and the health department are engaged in checking at the Idukki border. Those who have taken two doses of the vaccine and having an RTPCR negative certificate are allowed entry.
