Kerala clocks 15,600 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, 148 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 15,600 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Among these, 14,761 persons developed the disease through contact, including 699 cases without an identified source of infection. 66 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 74 health workers contracted the disease on Wednesday.

11,629 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,07,925 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 148 deaths due to the virus on Wednesday with the toll rising to 14,108.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Malappuram 2052, Ernakulam 1727, Thrissur 1724, Kozhikode 1683, Kollam 1501, Palakkad 1180, Thiruvananthapuram 1150, Kannur 962, Alappuzha 863, Kasaragod 786, Kottayam 779, Wayanad 453, Pathanamthitta 449, Idukki 291.

1,50,630 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 10.36.
