THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rains for the next five days in the state. As part of this, orange and yellow alerts were declared in various districts till July 15.

July 11: Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod

July 11: Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Palakkad
July 12: Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad
July 13: Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod
July 14: Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod
July 15: Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod
The IMD has asked people in low-lying areas, riverbanks, and hilly areas prone to landslides to remain alert. Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea as strong winds of 40 to 60 kmph are expected along the coasts of Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep.
