Kerala records 16,338 COVID-19 cases on Friday, 20 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 16,338 COVID-19 cases on Friday. Among these, 15,228 persons developed the disease through contact, including 859 cases without an identified source of infection. 135 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 116 health workers contracted the disease on Friday.

3848 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 76,819 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 20 deaths due to the virus on Friday with the toll rising to 50,568.

Thiruvananthapuram 3556, Ernakulam 3198, Kozhikode 1567, Thrissur 1389, Kottayam 1103, Kollam 892, Kannur 787, Pathanamthitta 774, Malappuram 708, Palakkad 703, Alappuzha 588, Idukki 462, Kasaragod 371, Wayanad 240.
