Kerala records 17,518 COVID-19 cases on Friday, TPR at 13.63; 132 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 17,518 COVID-19 cases on Friday. Among these, 16,638 persons developed the disease through contact, including 700 cases without an identified source of infection. 110 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 70 health workers contracted the disease on Friday.

11,067 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,35,198 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 132 deaths due to the virus on Friday with the toll rising to 15,871.

Malappuram 2871, Thrissur 2023, Kozhikode 1870, Ernakulam 1832, Kollam 1568, Palakkad 1455, Kannur 1121, Kottayam 1053, Thiruvananthapuram 996, Alappuzha 901, Kasargod 793, Pathanamthitta 446, Wayanad 363, Idukki 226.

1,28,489 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 13.63.
